Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković participated in a Replenishment Conference for the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, organized by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
In the introductory part of the conference, which was held online, Secretary-General Guterres and representatives of several countries addressed the audience, while Prime Ministers, Deputy Prime Ministers, Foreign Ministers and other representatives of 64 countries from around the world, including Minister Turković, addressed in the second part.
The Minister emphasized the importance of this conference, stating that she believes that opportunities will be opened for strengthening mutual cooperation by providing access to resources to address long-term peacekeeping challenges.
She stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina is constantly striving to be a constructive part of the UN mission.
She underlined that the Secretary-General's Peacebuilding Fund is a solid way to further build strong and mutually reinforced partnerships, which follow a clear vision and complementary peacekeeping processes and support for inclusion.
-Bosnia and Herzegovina has previously benefited from PBF support. The fund has played an important role in supporting young people across the country. Our goal is to continue to be present and active in the current debates and decisions on universal democratic practices and inclusive societies, which seek to improve pluralistic practices. A strong Peacebuilding Fund can only help us achieve these goals faster and more successfully- said Minister Turković, the B&H MFA said.
