B&H Presidency member Šefik Džaferović said after a meeting between the B&H Presidency and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that the visit confirmed the extremely good and friendly relations between the two countries.
He thanked President Erdogan for his hospitality, adding that this was a very important visit, as there were several very important topics on the agenda.
-First of all, I would like to thank President Erdogan for the 30,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines that the Republic of Turkey will donate to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it was announced at today's meeting- said Džaferović.
He mentioned that the agreement on the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade motorway, which was signed today, was also discussed, which is a new step forward on the issue of this large infrastructure project.
-The Sarajevo-Belgrade motorway is very important for Bosnia and Herzegovina because it will connect the capital with the northeastern and southeastern part of B&H- he added.
Džaferović also emphasized that this project is of exceptional importance for the entire region of the Western Balkans, not only for the better traffic connection between Sarajevo and Belgrade but also for the stability of this part of Europe.
They also discussed how to make the best use of the Free Trade Agreement, which was signed by the Presidency and subsequently ratified by the parliaments of both countries.
-It is important to know that we have signed a Free Trade Agreement with Turkey, which gives Bosnia and Herzegovina privileges that no other country in the world has in trade relations with Turkey- Džaferović stated.
