Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gordana Tadić, chaired the meeting of the Task Force for Fight Against Terrorism, which was attended by officials from judicial authorities, police, security and law enforcement agencies from the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, both entities and the Brčko District of B&H, as well as representatives of the international community involved in the work in this field.
The main topics of the meeting were the activities of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fight against terrorism and the threat of terrorism, participation in international operations and activities within the anti-terrorist coalition, and preventive activities taken to prevent the threat of terrorism and radicalisation, as well as the processes of deradicalisation of persons prosecuted for terrorism-related offences.
The Chief Prosecutor informed the participants at the meeting that despite the Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions and limitations at work, the past 2020 and the beginning of 2021 were the period with extremely good results in the Terrorism Section the outcome of which was the filing of indictments for terrorism-related offences against a total of 8 people in 2020 and against one person in 2021.
The results were achieved through joint work and cooperation of institutions and agencies operating within the Task Force and the Operational Group with the aim of strengthening the rule of law and security of citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the meeting, officials and representatives of institutions operating within the Task Force had an opportunity to present their work and results, as well as current issues in this field from the aspect of the work of the institutions they come from, stated the B&H Prosecutor's Office.
