Deputies of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly unanimously agreed today at an emergency session to conclude an agreement with the Russian Fund for Foreign Investments on the procurement of vaccines.

On April 15, Sarajevo Canton and the Government of the Federation of B&H signed an agreement on joint procurement of Sputnik V vaccines from the Russian Federation, and agreed that 40 percent of vaccines would go to the Canton, 60 percent to the FB&H Government or 200,000 doses to the Canton and 300,000 doses to the Federation of B&H.

Therefore, the Prime Minister of SC Edin Forto convened an emergency session of the SC Assembly and presented to the deputies the risks of signing the contract, because the court that is not in B&H has jurisdiction over that contract, and it was said that bank guarantees will not be issued.

-It is agreed to pay 50 percent of the amount in advance for each individual delivery, and not for the total ordered quantity, which reduces the risk in procurement and payment- said Forto and added that the price is USD 9.95 per dose and it is a unique price of the manufacturer, plus transportation costs.

Bosnalijek will be an importer with a minimum legal margin, and successive delivery, as Forto announced, is expected in June, first 25,000 doses.

It was also emphasized that the Canton has the capacity to store all types of vaccines.
