Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Health of the Una-Sana Canton (USC), Cantonal Institute for Public Health and Danish Refugee Council (DRC) have started coronavirus vaccination process in the temporary reception center Lipa.
This is continuation of the immunization of the beneficiaries of the reception centers in this part of the country, considering that migrants and refugees in the temporary centers "Borići" and Miral" have been vaccinated in the previous days.
-All beneficiaries of the temporary reception center Lipa site were asked in the previous days whether they want vaccination against COVID-19. 264 of them answered positively and we started immunization this morning. Everyone has been informed that these are AstraZeneca vaccines, and that they are as safe as possible. We simply want to protect all people, both the domicile population and these people who are temporarily in collective accommodation- said Director of the Institute of Public Health USC Zarina Mulabdić.
The migrants confirmed that they were previously well informed about the complete process, as well as that they independently decided whether they wanted to be vaccinated.
-I decided to get vaccinated because I think it is good for the health of all of us, especially us who are currently in collective accommodation. Winter is coming and many other challenges are coming, so I just don't want to be afraid of the possibility of COVID-19 infection- said Ammar from Afghanistan.
It was also announced that in the coming period, additional work will be done on education and protection of migrants from coronavirus.
