The President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marinko Čavara, held a press conference where he announced the appointment of judges of the FBiH Constitutional Court.

As Čavara stated, the appointed judges of the FBiH Constitutional Court are Ajša Softić, from the Bosniak nation, Mirko Miličević, from the Croat nation, Branimir Orašanin, from the Serb nation, and Dubravko Čampara, from the Others.

The appointment procedure will be completed after it is confirmed by the FBiH Vice-Presidents and the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament.

Inadmissible attacks on the institutions of the President of FBiH

During his address to the journalists, Čavara said that attacks on the institutions of the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are unacceptable.

- I am saddened that after the call to my office there was a chase that I cannot understand. The Vice Presidents stated that it was unconstitutional without specifying which part.

It is inadmissible and unacceptable to attack the institution of the President of FBiH and destroy the institutions of this country. I am very happy to have met 19 people with whom I spoke directly. I wish I could name them all because they are wonderful people - said Čavara.

Accusations of blocking the appointment of judges

Čavara, commenting on the claims of the vice-presidents Milan Dunović and Melika Mahmutbegović, said that he did not understand it, and added that the former vice-president of FBiH Mirsad Kebo called the candidates for an interview and that he had the legal right to do so.

He also commented on the accusations that he is blocking the appointment of judges, as well as other processes, stating that this is not true.

- If I wanted to block it, I would use the constitutional obligation to dissolve the FBiH Parliament in January, I didn't do it because I didn't want to stop the processes in the FBiH - said Čavara.

Let us remind you that the Constitutional Court of FBiH has been vacant for years, because there are currently only five judges out of a total of nine in the court. Due to the incompleteness of the court, its Council for the Protection of Vital Interests is also blocked.
