In the continuation of the trial of Zijad Mutap and others in the "Dženan Memic" case, Šećo Smajlović and Sanela Hasanbegović, members of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton, were questioned today in the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Witness Šećo Smajlović was a night watchman at the "Casa Grande" hotel in Velika Aleja at the time of the event, on February 8, 2016. He said that he saw first the rotations, the police, and then the ambulance, which first took someone away on a stretcher, and then another ambulance took away another person, whose head was bandaged. He neither heard nor saw anything else, and only after a few days two men in civilian clothes came to his house and he told them the same thing.
More questions from both the state prosecutors and the defendants' defense were for the police officer Sanela Hasanbegović, who at the time of the event was working in the Department for Blood and Sexual Offenses of the MUP of the Sarajevo Canton. She told in detail about the fact that two days after the event, prosecutor Meris Ćato requested that their department be involved in the investigation because he was not sure about the way the event took place. After Dženan Memić succumbed to his injuries, a written request came for the Department to be involved in the investigation because it could possibly be a criminal offense of murder, and they acted as if it was murder.
Made a new report without new evidence
The witness Hasanbegović also said that inspector Olga Vukša invited Hasan Dupovac, then head of traffic investigations, to go with them to the prosecutor's office, where the autopsy of the Dženan's body was performed. The witness said that Olga Vukša was at the autopsy, and that her colleague Edin Grabovica, Hasan Dupovac and she were in front. She also confirmed that they were asked for a battery and that Dupovac went to his vehicle and brought the battery, which he brought to the prosecutor's office, where he left within a minute.
Hasanbegović said that Vukša said that it was a blow to the head with a blunt, hard object, and a bar was mentioned. The witness also said that they also investigated Alisa's ex-boyfriend Mirza Ploskić and his friends, but that they found out through one man that he was not in possession of the green Renault Clio on the critical night.
The witness said that Alisa Mutap then said the same thing, that they were moving on the right side in Great Alley, that Dženan leaned over to say something to her and that she thinks that they were not hit by a car, because she was once hit by a car and her shoes fell off and this time it didn't happen.
After talking with the witnesses, they came to Jasmin Seferović, who is the owner of the green van, which was driven by his father Ljubo Seferović.
Jasmin, Ljuba and Bekrija Seferović were arrested, against whom a murder report was filed. After a month, their head of the department, Nurija Mehić, told them that the appeal had been accepted and that, when the Seferovićs were released from custody, they would be arrested again.
After that, there was a report made in their department, in which, without any new evidence, the crime was reclassified from murder to a serious traffic safety crime. Hasanbegović said that the report was typed by Olga Vukša and herself, and that Hasan Dupovac helped and dictated it to them. The witness said that she was embarrassed because of this and that the ordinance does not prescribe such behavior, but that she was grateful to Dupovac for his help because she would not have been able to write it herself since it was a traffic offense.
Hasan Dupovac compiled the report
Muriz Memić, the father of the victim Dženan Memić, after the search, said that he was glad that Dalida Burzić was no longer in the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and commented on the testimony of Sanela Hasanbegović.
- I am glad that today we were at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Dalida Burzić is no longer there, she is suspended, it is a great success. I expect her arrest. As for Sanala Hasanbegović, she is a liar from the beginning from the MUP of Sarajevo Canton. The entire Department for Blood and Sexual Offenses lied from the beginning. That's why new investigations are now underway against the heads of those departments, and Sanela Hasanbegović was quite dishonest, she kept quiet about a lot of things - Memić said at the beginning and added:
- Ifet said that a long time ago, that they made a new report without any new evidence. The first report was for murder, the judge for the preliminary proceedings saw that Ljubo did not do it and that is why the appeal was accepted. However, they write a new report for the traffic accident and we see in the reconstruction how they get Ljubo to show the scene. He did not know how to show the place. It will be written about this, how without any new evidence they are going to a new qualification of the act, and you saw what Hasan Dupovac was doing and that he was coming and that he compiled that report. Everything has been exposed, but you see these struggles for six and a half years. I will never forgive Sanela Hasanbegović, I will never forgive her. It's strange to me today that no one asked her about the official note she made that Alisa recognized one of the attackers, and Sanel kept it quiet - said Memić.
He added that he was surprised that the Prosecution did not ask the witness who Alisa recognized as the attacker, because, as Memić says, her father called for two days and said that Alisa recognized an attacker.
The middle letter "A" on the license plate of the van seen in the video
- Another thing, Nina Kisić, a lawyer, doesn't need me to teach her what a polygraph is. First, the polygraph is not recognized by the Court, and the second is my interpretation. The polygraph is a machine, and at the end a man writes the report. To clarify, for Ljubo Seferović, the polygraph showed that he was sure a perpetrator. Three judgments said that it did not happen at all. Mirza Ploskić, a participant in the event, knows the perpetrator, who investigated it, no one, never. So the polygraph is a pointless thing, they write whatever they want at the end. So, they should not stick to the polygraph, because the Court does not recognize it. How then did they not investigate Mirza Ploskić if he was a participant in the event and knows the perpetrator?
The witness Sanela Hasanbegović stated that she took the video surveillance CD from the Kuwaiti Embassy and that there was no court order for the seizure then.
- She took it from Vahidin Memić at "Securitas" without an order. But later, through work, they were able to get to it nicely, because we offered them a video that we expertized in Canada that the middle letter "A" is on the license plate of the van that can be seen in the video. However, they did not want it and said that it should be sent again for expert examination. In the indictment, it is stated that the middle letter is "E", and the video shows that it is the letter "A". How did they not follow that trail, what were they doing? We know and it is common knowledge that it was a criminal organization in 2016 in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton with Džafer Hrvat, Nurija Mehić, Sakib Krem, Emir Mehmedagić and Sanela Hasanbegović at the head - Memić said.
He added that there is no need to use the expertise conducted in Canada for the purposes of a new investigation into the murder of Dženan Memić, because it is a finished matter.
- There was no traffic accident. The only thing that can be used is to see who was trying to set it up. We heard it and without a single new piece of evidence they were going for it. But again we see that Hasan was there, that Hasan is responsible, that's why he is on trial, and Alisa and Zijad Mutap. Whoever wants the video, I will give it and I will publish it so that the letter "A" can be seen. So they were going in the wrong direction all along. We thought that Dalida Burzić and Vahid Ćosić would give up at some point, but they only went deeper. They probably didn't expect our resistance, but here we proved it. We exposed the Prosecutor's Office of the SC and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton. But, thank God, they have new people who want to work. Thank God that this is coming to an end because a new procedure awaits us. Believe me, the people will vomit when they find out the real truth - said Muriz Memić at the end.
