Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šefik Džaferović, received the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Margret Uebber, in a farewell visit.
They discussed the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and special attention was paid to announcements about the imposition of the Election Law by the OHR, said the BiH Presidency.
Džaferović said that it is not good for the HR to impose unbalanced changes to the FBiH Constitution and the Election Law in order to meet the demands of only one political party.
He reminded that the leaders of the political parties in the agreement signed with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, agreed that the talks on limited constitutional and electoral reforms would continue six months after the elections and the formation of authorities at all levels, and by undermining this agreement, the OHR is questioning the credibility of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He underlined that unbalanced and discriminatory changes could harm the Office of the High Representative as an institution that, according to the Dayton Peace Agreement, is necessary for Bosnia and Herzegovina to function.
They also discussed the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the prospects for acquiring candidate status for BiH.
Džaferović thanked Uebber for her engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina and wished her good health and success on a professional and personal level.
